How to make successful New Year’s Resolutions
Every year we make resolutions but a large number of them are broken within the first week. So whether you are looking to lose weight, quit smoking, exercise more or just take better care of yourself, there are three simple steps which will help you to keep this year’s resolutions:
- Set yourself a goal which is SMART – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time specific. Try and set one goal at a time and write it down. Seeing it on paper makes it more real and also prepares you mentally for the task ahead.
- Plan well – Do you have the help and support you need? Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Do you have the equipment you need?
- Stay motivated, don’t give up! Keep reminding yourself of your goal and why you set it. New patterns of behaviour can take at least 21 days to set in, so keep going. A bad day doesn’t mean you have to give up. Just start again tomorrow.
So that just leaves me to wish you a happy, healthy and successful 2016! If you would like more help and support with your New Year’s resolutions please do not hesitate to contact me.
